“We are not looking bones, we are looking our treasures”

The true meaning of pain came to us when darkness silenced our light. We materialise through our heart that which each one of our dearest treasures loves to eat. Remember, they love it, because they're still alive. They´re alive because their memory lies in our heart. It is and it will always be a pleasure to taste the dishes they used to love when they were still here with us. It´ll be like sharing the food again, with them,  just like on those times when they were still here. To prepare the food with the exact same love as we did for them and eat it like if they were here. We are aware of the fact that due to our pain and struggle, hundreds and thousands of people have found calm. Today, they have peace. We are not alone, as well as we have God, we have each other.  We are Rastreadoras – tracers- and we are looking for treasures. We know that they're out there and we are going to find them. They are missing for all of us.

The disappearance of Roberto Quiroz (2014) in Los Mochis, Sinaloa motivated the foundation of Las Rastreadoras, a group of 130 women who look for their missing ones. So far Las Rastreadoras have found the remains of 195 missing people. In January 2020 they´re still looking for 1504 forced disappearing victims.
